Author Guidelines

A. General Author Guidelines

  1. The Manuscript should be written in Indonesian or English and have never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. The submitted manuscripts are the results of community service activities that align with the focus and scope of the SIKOP Journal of Community Service, such as community empowerment, training, mentoring, education, the application of appropriate technology, outreach, and other forms of community service that have a positive impact on the community.
  3. The manuscript must describe the application of science, technology, education, or innovation aimed at solving problems and promoting sustainable community development.
  4. The author should register as an Author. The guides to register and submit the paper is at the bottom.
  5. The manuscript will be published in Sinergi Komunitas Pengabdian (SIKOP) after being reviewed by peer reviewers.
  6. The length of submitted paper is at least 5 pages and no more than 12 pages.

B. Structure

  1. Title (maximum 14 words).
  2. Author Names and Affiliations.
  3. Abstract (250–300 words, one paragraph).
  4. Keywords (3–5 words, separated by semicolons).
  5. Introduction (10–15% of the total manuscript).
  6. Methods.
  7. Results and Discussion.
  8. Conclusion.
  9. Acknowledgements (optional).
  10. References.

C. Writing Format

  1. Font: Cambria.
  2. Title size: 14 pt.
  3. Text format: justified.
  4. Use a maximum of three levels of headings.
  5. Levels 2 & 3: boldface, italic, using both uppercase and lowercase letters..
  6. Headings are left-aligned.
  7. Use clear and systematic scientific language..

D. Abstract and Keywords

  1. The abstract is written in one paragraph.
  2. Length: 250–300 words. Contains: Background,Objectives, Short Method, Results, Implications.
  3. Keywords: 3–5 words Separated by a comma (;)

E. Writing Citations

  1. Using APA Style 7th Edition. Example: (Davis, 2025),    (Turban et al., 2024) → for 3 or more authors

F. Tables and Figures

  1. Figures: Title below the figure No border required
  2. Tables: Titles above tables are center-aligned on the page and written in lowercase  except for the first character of each sentence, Centered.
  3. Source must be cited if from another reference.

G. Equations

  1. Written neatly and numbered (1), (2), etc.
  2. Right-aligned numbers.
  3. Use consistent mathematical symbols.
  4. Variables are written in italics.

H. References

  1. Arranged alphabetically (A–Z).
  2. No numbers.
  3. Use hanging indent.
  4. Include DOI if available.
  5. Primary sources: Journals, Proceedings, Scientific publications (last 5 years).
  6. Books/thesis/dissertations, maximum 20%.
