Peer Review Process
The peer review process ensures that every article submitted to the Journal of Community Service Synergy (SIKOP) undergoes a peer review process to evaluate and verify the quality, originality, and suitability of the article prior to publication. This process involves experts in the relevant fields who review the submitted manuscripts and provide feedback.
Key Points in the Peer Review Process:
- Every article submitted to the journal first undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team.
- The review process uses the single-blind peer review method.
- Reviewers provide evaluations and recommendations to the editor regarding the article’s suitability for publication.
- The final decision to accept or reject an article is made by the editor based on the results of the review.
- The peer review process is conducted to ensure the quality, originality, and contribution of community service articles.
The peer review process for journal publications is a quality control mechanism in which experts evaluate manuscripts to ensure the quality of published work. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of an article rests entirely with the journal editor or the journal’s editorial board.
Peer Review Process
- Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts to the SIKOP journal’s Open Journal System (OJS) in accordance with the applicable template and writing guidelines. - Editorial Team Review
The editorial team conducts an initial review to ensure the article conforms to the journal’s template and checks for plagiarism. The quality of the manuscript is not evaluated at this stage. - Editor-in-Chief’s & Editorial Team Evaluation
The editor-in-chief & Editorial Team reviews manuscripts to ensure they are appropriate, relevant, and original. If a manuscript is deemed unsuitable, it may be rejected without further review. - Reviewer Process
Articles that pass the initial screening will be sent to at least two reviewers with expertise in the article’s field. Reviewers will evaluate: relevance of the topic, originality of the article, quality of the article, clarity of presentation, contribution to the community, and references. - Review Decision
Based on the review results, the editor will issue a decision: accepted without revisions, accepted with revisions, resubmitted for review, or rejected. - Revisions by the Author
The author is required to revise the article in accordance with the reviewers’ and editor’s feedback within the specified timeframe. - Final Decision
The editor will make the final decision based on the revised manuscript and the reviewers’ recommendations, and will notify the author via email. - Decision Notified
The editor sends an email to the author containing the decision and relevant comments from the reviewers. - Manuscript Publication
If the manuscript is accepted, it will proceed to the editing and publication process in the Journal of Sinergi Komunitas Pengabdian (SIKOP).
