Screening For Plagiarism

  1. Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is an original work and free from plagiarism. If authors use the work, data, or words of others, the sources must be properly cited or quoted in accordance with academic standards.
  2. Generally speaking, authors should not submit manuscripts describing the same research to more than one journal or publication medium at the same time. Such actions constitute a violation of scientific publication ethics and are unacceptable.
  3. Proper acknowledgment of others’ work must always be provided. Authors must cite publications that have influenced the nature of the reported work.
  4. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a plagiarism check by the editorial board of the Sienergi Komunitas Pengabdian (SIKOP) Journal using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or similar applications.



The editorial board of the Journal of Sinergi Komunitas Pengabdian (SIKOP) states that plagiarism is unacceptable. Therefore, every submitted manuscript will be checked for its similarity index to ensure the manuscript’s originality. The following policy outlines specific actions (sanctions) if plagiarism or similarity is found in an article submitted for publication in the Journal of Sinergi Komunitas Pengabdian (SIKOP). The maximum allowed similarity level is 30%. If the similarity check results exceed 30%, the article will be returned to the author for revision or may be rejected by the editor.

Level of Plagiarism


Minor: A small portion of the article’s content overlaps with another work without proper citation and does not affect the core content of the article’s main discussion.

Action: A warning is issued to the authors, along with a request to revise the text and properly cite the original article.

Moderate: Some of the article’s content bears significant similarities to other works without proper citation.

Action: The submitted article may be rejected, and the author will be asked to revise it according to the editor’s instructions.

Severity: A The article has been found to plagiarize a significant portion of another work, including data, results, or key ideas presented without proper citation.

Action: The article will be rejected, the author will be barred from submitting further articles, and the editorial board reserves the right to take further action in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.

All authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit. By submitting an article to the Journal of Community Service Synergy (SIKOP), authors are deemed to have understood and agreed to all applicable publication ethics guidelines. If sanctions are imposed due to plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same sanctions.
